What is causing my son’s rash?

My son had a fever for about 2 days and broke out in a rash but still has the fever. His nose is also runny. I believe the rash started on his face and he's had it for 2 days now. The doctor thinks it's Roseola but it doesn't look verry much like any picture I've seen of the virus, especially since it's all over his face and it's still spreading. What do you suppose it is? I have a bad hunch that it may be measles even though he's had his vaccines.

With roseola, the rash appears just after the fever disappears. That’s very basic information that any doctor should know.

There’s nothing you said that totally rules out measles in my mind, although it could be one of many other illnesses too. If it is measles, why is this a "bad hunch?" It sounds like he is doing fine, and whether it is measles or not is not going to change that.
