Use a rejuvenating clay for her skin, go to a health store. Read books on natural health, maybe a change in her diet.

I don't know much about mono, but I know that it is possible to have chronic HHV6 infection, which is the roseola virus reactivated in the body. Symptoms are different than acute roseola, which is a very common childhood illness.

Heat rash, if it was hot, his pores might have been blocked, causing the rash. Just gently wash it, it should clear.

Comment on mmr vaccine and delayed reaction? by peacelily

Concerning your nephew: “A delayed MMR immunization reaction occurs in approximately 1out of every 10 children and includes joint pains, rash, swollen glands in the neck and fever over 102 degrees F.” http://www.freemd.com/immunization-reaction/types-mmr.htm

“The MMR vaccine has a delayed reaction--usually 5-12 days after the vaccine is given.” The fever is the beginning of a reaction to the MMR, and other symptoms follow, so the major part of the sickness could occur the third week after the shot: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Pediatrics-1429/5-Yr-Immunizations.htm

It is also very possible that your nephew picked up another illness, although if that was the case, it can’t be said that it wasn’t caused by the shot. Vaccinations depress the body’s immune functions, increasing the risk of developing other diseases: http://www.mercola.com/article/vaccines/immune_suppression.htm

I know exactly how you feel about your daughter. My husband and I have two older children, both “typical,” who each received 10 shots by age two. Our 9 year-old had over 30! He is on the spectrum with Asperger’s and also has Tourette’s and dysgraphia. Neither my husband nor I have any history of autism on either side of our families. We now have a 14-month old, so this issue is of vital importance to us; we want to take the utmost care in deciding what's best for him. At first, I was relieved that they removed Thimerosal from most of the vaccines (after our 9 yr-old had his), so our plan was to immunize our baby, but to spread them out more and leave off any unnecessary vaccines. We thought his pediatrician was in agreement (he didn’t give the Hep B in the hospital, but it turned out he was just paying us lip service…telling us one thing and then sending the nurse in with all the shots afterwards). So our little guy is current on his vaccinations through 9 mos. Every time they stuck him, I got a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. We left that ped., and decided to research the issue further, because we heard the percentage of children being diagnosed with autism was continuing to rise. I was sickened to find that the mercury in the vaccines was replaced with something even more toxic: http://www.fourwinds10.com/siterun_data/health/harmful_products/news.php?q=1233175080 The more I researched the issue, the sicker I got, and finally we decided to stop all vaccines until after our baby is two. We’ll reevaluate at that time.

What we found is that recent studies suggest that autism is a genetic disorder that requires an environmental trigger to kick in. In other words, there is most likely a group of children who are particularly susceptible to environmental triggers (such as toxins and other ingredients contained in vaccines). So, if you have a child with the genetic susceptibility who is exposed to the proper environmental trigger at a certain critical stage of development, autism will result. (Actually, recent studies are suggesting that allergies, asthma, juvenile diabetes and autoimmune disorders may be connected to vaccinations in the same way).

The problem with the so-called "studies" that are discrediting the link between the MMR or other vaccinations and autism is that they are large population studies, and therefore are not sufficient to disprove a link. No official studies have been done specifically with regard to those children who have regressed into autism within a few weeks of the vaccines to determine what factor or factors contributed to their regression. The Institute of Medicine refuses to pursue susceptibility groups or to seek out children who may be vulnerable. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-kirby/dr-bernadine-healy-dont-d_b_101421.html

Until they do, I suggest taking precautions when it comes to vaccinating. The following link is to Generation Rescue's information on vaccine safety. They recommend such precautions as increasing your child's dose of Vitamin A and C before and after shots, spreading the shots out, and always reading the package inserts: http://www.generationrescue.org/vaccines.html

I also recommend the DVD "Vaccinations? Assessing the Risks and Benefits" with Jay Gordon, M.D. Dr. Gordon is a nationally recognized pediatrician who is neither pro- nor anti-vaccine. He simply believes vaccination decisions should be made on an individual basis considering risk vs. benefit. The DVD covers a wealth of information on the pros and cons of vaccinating, which shots you should give serious consideration to and which ones are really not necessary, and natural ways to prevent childhood illness. I found a copy at our local library.

My son is currently under the care of a DAN doctor, and we are seeing marked improvement. We've cleared up his GI issues (chronic yeast overgrowth as evidenced by recurring rash and chronic diarrhea he lived with for 7 yrs), and now we're working on neurotransmitter and sleep issues (again seeing improvement). He begins chelation soon.

I am worried as well. I have 3 sons-one who catches everything in the air-the and 1 who is only 3. I worry because people are stupid. They don't wash their hands like they should and when they do-they don't wash them right. People are stupid because they go to work, school. the store sick and don't care if they cough all over the place. I worry because there is nothing to help this strain of flu just yet. Hopefully cases are minor here in the states and it only lasts so long. We can hope and pray. I watch and read about the new cases everyday. It is scary. Our schools need to have our kids wear face masks to school just like they did in Japan. I would ask your doctor to run a blood test to assure you he is ok.

Sorry you are suffering so....

OK. Why you have so many infectious diseases -I wish I knew.

What can be done about this one ? Well as it's neuropathic pain, what about neurontin (gabapentin). It works for many with post herpetic neuralgia, so why not with intra herpetic neuralgia ?

As you will know the immume system is built on proteins and governed by your genes. I don't know what to suggest. Only know that none of those supposed immune boosters do anything but relieve you of money.

Try the usual best advice. Eat well, fresh balanced diet, get plenty of good quality rest and be happy. If you unresolved emotional issues, get off to a psychologist.

All the best.
